We have a long-term vision for this little piece of heaven, but maintaining an orchard takes ongoing support. This includes caring for the plants, replacing trees when necessary, and expanding our reach through social media to share the story of this special place with more people. Our hope is to inspire others—whether they decide to create their own community space or simply visit and enjoy the many wonderful places Richmond has to offer.
Your contributions help us sustain and improve the orchard while expanding our impact through social media outreach. This site serves as a valuable resource for students, the Richmond community, and beyond. Please consider making a contribution to help preserve and grow this cherished space!
The Mary Scott Community Orchard would not be here, if not for the support of so many across our community and region. Our ongoing gratitude to the foundations that have supported our vision and helped to invest in this community.

We would love to talk with you about joining and supporting our vision to bring local students into the heart of nature through the Orchard Educational Outreach Program. This program offers hands-on, immersive learning experiences for students of various ages and grades, connecting them with the natural world and fostering a deeper appreciation for sustainability, agriculture, and environmental stewardship. Sponsorship helps us achieve increasing levels of program offerings.
From April through October, the Mary Scott Community Orchard hosts class and group trips that provide engaging, interactive activities for students. Guided by experienced educators, students will learn about plant life cycles, pollination, the importance of biodiversity, and the benefits of growing local produce. Through planting, harvesting, and orchard maintenance, these hands-on experiences reinforce STEM concepts, teamwork, and responsibility.
