Mary Scott Community Orchard Richmond, IN.
Orchard Outreach Educator

Jen Hartman

This is Jen and she has been a teacher-partner from the beginning! A career educator and avid learner, Jen believes in learning about nature and all it has to offer and sharing that with others. Learning means pushing into what we don't know. Come by for a visit and leave with something to think about!

Summer Outreach-2025

We work to acquaint the community with the MSCO. On scheduled dates and times, an experienced orchard outreach educator faciltates visits and field trips that enhance the orchard experience. We support community organizations and community summer camps with hands-on activities, learning, and art-based activities.

THANKS TO THE WAYNE COUNTY FOUNDATION!

This was made possible through a generous grant from the Wayne County Foundation. Teachers received class sets of tools to bring for students to use in the creative ways that teachers know be

Through a grant from the Wayne County Foundation (WCF), we are supporting teachers in Richmond with field science kits to use with their students and classes. Wayne County Foundation has supported the orchard for several years. Many thanks, WCF!

one idea across many backgrounds

We work with teachers from a variety of school settings and backgrounds. Our common goal is effective and engaging learning in the great outdoors.

Still busy, but the Mary Scott Community Orchard begins its gentle drift toward winter’s sleep
