The Wayne County Foundation has been an excellent partner and supported MSCO through funding for scientific equipment and materials for the site. They helped with the purchase of science field kits and development of important interactive features at the orchard!

This generous grant helped with the maintaining the site through the construction and installation of a berry trellis!
The generosity of the Reid Health Foundation resulted in tools and other important equipment being purchased for student use in the installation and ongoing maintenance of the orchard.
The matching grant awarded through the IHCDA helped pay the costs of installation and intitial maintenance of this wonderful community site!

So many individuals helped this project by supporting it in ways they could. Sometimes $20 and other times $5, but the effect is clear! There are too many to individually thank each. We are humbled and heartened!
It takes leadership for an initiative like this. The leadership of the Mayor's Office, the Richmond Parks Department, and Wayne County Chamber of Commerce were crucial for the project's success!
Several local businesses either donated their time and resources or offered a discount to help the project along. This ranged from materials to transportation to food for the participants.
Teachers were the first people we went to with this project idea. They saw the inherent value in it and stayed dedicated to the project, even through the pandemic.
Students want to contribute to their community. Over 120 students across numerous grades and schools took part.
Connecting with the Purdue Extension Office in Wayne County enabled connecting with experts in the field of apple and berry cultivation. The Indiana Audubon Society contributed to the design of the butterfly garden and Forrest Foust (pictured above) from Rose City Nursery helped execute our plan flawlessly.
We have to have a border and the fencing experts took care of us and our project goals!
We had a lot of grounds prep to do and Earlywine Pest Control was there to help us out. When they found out about the project, they contributed their time and resources for free to better the community.
Rose City Nursery has been a best friend and allies to the project since the beginning. They have advised us on all aspects of the irrigation design and installation and continue to be a valued partner!

Facebook and the Richmond Farmer's Market provided the means to make the public aware of this project. We had to put the hours in, but all that time was worth it!
Four local artists took their time to compose works to be displayed at the site.
It's important to give both credit and information in proper amounts. APlus Signs, a local sign company, handled these details excellently.
